Cara Hunter is a Vancouver-born, Toronto based Canadian actor who has performed on stages across the country and across the continent over her 30-year career. After graduating from the University of British Columbia’s Theatre program, Cara moved to Toronto to perform in the Canadian production of Les Misérables, which ultimately took her across Canada and into the U.S. on the First National Tour as Eponine. She then toured the continent again, this time with Donny Osmond in the original Canadian production of Livent’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Following that, Cara performed for four seasons in both plays and musicals at the Stratford Festival, where she was a member of the Festival’s prestigious Young Company and had the opportunity to work with Tony-nominated directors Brian Macdonald and Brian Bedford.

Cara has performed in regional theatres across our beautiful country, from the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver to the Confederation Centre for the Arts in Charlottetown, P.E.I. Cara has also appeared on-screen in various TV series, including Suits, Orphan Black, and Heroes Reborn. Favourite roles on the stage include Donna in Mamma Mia, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, both for the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors at the Grand Theatre in London, Catherine Winslow in The Winslow Boy for RMTC and Theatre Aquarius, and the title role in an all-female version of Richard III for Shakespeare in the Square in Brampton.
